And Governor Mitt Romney wants to get rid of the state inspector general's office (Globe story here; Herald story here), which is dedicated to rooting out the waste, fraud, and corruption around which Romney has constructed his permanent campaign. Yes, the IG's office been too low-profile and more political than perhaps originally envisioned. But this is madness.
