TUBE TALK. There is something weirdly coincidental that on a morning when Terri Schiavo's parents are making yet another legal attempt to have her feeding tube reinserted, we learn that both Jerry Falwell and the pope are on life support. (Okay, the pope not so much. But I need three to make a trend, right?)

I'm really curious why you added the comment "okay, not really the pope . . . "

The pope has a feeding tube, which is *exactly the same* as the "life support" Terri was receiving. The only difference is that, as yet, his is through the nose and not through the wall of the stomach, but both are performing exactly the same function and that article said it's highly likely the pope's will have to become permanent as well.

Incidentally, have you seen the document where Judge Greer says it DOESN'T MATTER that Terri can speak (his argument is not that she CAN'T speak, but that her speaking is consistent with a diagnosis of PVS), and that any evidence given by someone who disagrees with the PVS diagnosis is "fatally flawed" only by virtue of its being evidence that would disprove PVS?

Please take a moment to check it out. I think you will be surprised when readng Judge Greer's own words.
